WILLIAM N K KINNEY ART
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, William has worked as a visual artist, filmmaker, and photographer creating works which capture the human experience. William graduated from the prestigous film/art program at Columbia College. There he earned a BA with an emphasis in cinematography. As an artist, William utilizes his photographer skills of composition and design. He reinvents day-to-day commonly over-looked subjects and with an attuned eye captures the beauty for all to see. In 2014 William moved to the energetic city of New Orleans becoming an Official Artist of Jackson Sqaure. He started an abstract series titled "Up and Down." It is comprised of acrylic, ink, coffee, butterfly pea flower dye, and wine. He now incorporates black walnut dye derived from a tree his grandfather and his great uncles planted over a century ago adding his family's natural history to his work. The purpose of his work is to create calculated chaos by allowing design elements to occur naturally and randomly. Once the chaotic field is established, William then uses paint and line design to compose each piece. He has further expanded the series with "Up and Down Places." Utilizing monotype, William incorporates representational elements into his abstraction work
